Feddie Single Malt Whisky – Limited Release Autumn 2025

We've just released our first edition of our new series: Feddie Limited Release Cask Series 01.

In our cask warehouse, the whisky matures in a range of different cask types. This diversity is the key to creating whiskies with distinct and varied expressions. This series has been developed specifically to explore these differences – each release will have its own character, shaped by the unique influence of the cask.

Quarter Casks – Small casks with big influence

One of the most distinctive cask types we use is our Quarter Casks. These hold one quarter of a traditional 500-liter cask, and their smaller size creates a greater surface contact between the spirit and the wood. The result? Faster maturation and a stronger influence from the cask’s previous contents.

Our Quarter Casks are particularly interesting: they previously held peated malt whisky from a distillery on Islay. As second-fill casks, they have already been used once, which means the typical wood influence – such as vanillin – is less pronounced.Instead, we get an extraction of smoke, peat, and maritime notes.

A complex and nuanced whisky

When we blend these casks with our classic bourbon casks, something fascinating happens. The bourbon casks contribute rich oak notes, vanilla, and fruitiness, while the Quarter Casks add salt and smoke – together they create a whisky with complexity and depth. Some of the Quarter Casks can be tight and dry on their own, but in combination they provide a balanced and exciting flavour experience.

We have chosen to bottle this edition at 52% ABV, which results in an intense and concentrated whisky with many layers. It is different from our regular single malt – but in our opinion just as good, if not better.

Enjoy it – with or without water

We recommend tasting the whisky first as it is, before adding water. Feel free to keep a glass of water beside you and use a small teaspoon to dose it in. Notice how both the aroma and flavour evolve as you add small amounts of water – it adds another dimension to the experience.
